I tried something a bit crazy with this one: I taped over the borders between the windows and the floor, the walls, both of the characters and the two pancakes, so that I could the paint the background landscape without worrying about crossing over to the girl's hair etc.
It was almost a huge success, there were a couple of little smudges and the surface of the girl's hand ripped away with the tape. I had to cover it with a glove.
I don't know if I ever felt like it but here you are - to me - one of the most fascinating and really really interesting artists. Are you taking care of getting your work out there, getting it published? Exhibited?
When I use tape to mask a border when painting on watercolor paper, I always wear down the sticky side of the tape by first sticking it to my clothes so it won't rip the paper. Try not to burnish the tape down when you put it on the paper, and if it starts to tear, try taking the tape off from another angle. I HATE it when the tape tears the paper, so I feel you when you say it was almost a complete success. Some of my pieces I felt were entirely ruined by the tears of tape. But, way to be crafty and hide the tear. I really love this piece, and I always look forward to seeing more of your work! Keep it up!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
